The Asia eHealth Information Network contributed to the 2022 National Ethical Guidelines for Research Involving Human Participants. Executive Director Dr. Alvin Marcelo co-authored the section on artificial intelligence, mixed/augmented reality.
“With the emergence of new technologies, there should be a rational approach to research especially in areas where there is potential to alter human perceptions of the world. The fundamental principles of ethics should continue to guide us on these topics,” Dr. Marcelo said.
