Colombo, Sri Lanka – Key leaders from the Asia eHealth Information Network (AeHIN) Community of Interoperability Leaders (COIL) successfully participated in the 2024 OpenHIE Community Meeting hosted by the Sri Lanka College of Health Informatics and the Standards and Interoperability Lab (SIL) Sri Lanka, under the leadership of Dr. Chaminda Weerabaddana. The event, held at the prestigious Grand Cinnamon Hotel Colombo from November 12 to 16, 2025, brought together global health informatics professionals, showcasing innovations and collaborations in health information exchange.
Representing AeHIN were Anis Fuad from Indonesia and AeHIN director, Dr. Rath Panyowat from SIL-Thailand, Ramesh Subedi from the Ministry of Health Nepal and SIL-Nepal, and Dr. Alvin Marcelo from the Standards and Interoperability Lab Philippines (SILab). These leaders engaged in discussions and activities focused on advancing digital health solutions and strengthening interoperability across regions.
As part of their engagement, the COIL leaders also participated in the eHealth Leaders Forum, which gathered ministry representatives and experts from Africa, Latin America, and Asia to share experiences, exchange best practices, and address challenges in digital health governance and enterprise architecture.
The COIL delegation extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Sri Lankan team for successfully organizing an inspiring and impactful conference, underscoring the importance of international collaboration in achieving global health goals.
