The Asia eHealth Information Network (AeHIN) participated in the Digital Health Collaborative Knowledge Product Showcase Series, hosted by the Joint Learning Network for Universal Health Coverage (JLN), on March 3, 2026.
The webinar discussed governance reforms, regulatory and institutional models in centralized and decentralized systems, and digital health ecosystems, and showcased two co-created knowledge products:
- Addressing Public Governance Challenges in Digital Health (guide): https://documents1.worldbank.org/curated/en/099022726111514007/pdf/P509686-631d4898-1c28-437e-a564-5349e63aea80.pdf
- Digital Health Companion (DHC) (AI-enabled chatbot): https://jointlearningnetwork.org/what-we-do/the-digital-health-collaborative-new/digital-health-companion/
AeHIN was among the contributors to the above-mentioned knowledge products from JLN’s Digital Health Collaborative, especially towards the curated knowledge database for the DHC. On March 5, 2025, AeHIN and JLN co-organized a webinar to provide context on why and how the DHC was developed and to demonstrate how it works. Prior to this, the launch of the Digital Health Collaborative from JLN was co-located with the AeHIN General Meeting 2023 held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from November 6-8, 2023. Participants from JLN countries joined the AeHIN General Meeting sessions. In the following year, AeHIN, along with other regional networks, attended the Digital Health Collaborative’s first Authors’ Workshop, organized in Washington, D.C., from June 3-6, 2024.
After the introduction of the knowledge products, a panel was held with discussants from the Ministry of Health, Malaysia; Ghana Health Services, Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Republika Srpska; and the Department of Health, Philippines.
The panel with country representatives was followed by a panel involving the regional networks AeHIN, HELINA, and RECAINSA. This panel discussed insights into key governance priorities and the main pitfalls and stumbling blocks countries face when designing and implementing digital health governance. AeHIN Executive Director Mr. Jai Ganesh Udayasankaran was among the panelists and shared perspectives from the region. The regional reflections were followed by a Q&A on adaptations and implementations, as well as the session wrap-up.
