In order to respond to the numerous digital health opportunities, the Asia eHealth Information Network is seeking a new Executive Director with terms of references stated below.

Dr. Alvin Marcelo will remain in the Governing Committee responsible for the Regional Enterprise Architecture Council for Health (AeHIN REACH).

Terms of Reference: Executive Director, Asia eHealth Information Network

Background: The Asia eHealth Information Network was created by the World Health Organization in 2011 to support Ministries of Health with their national eHealth (now digital health) development. Over the years, AeHIN has distilled its advocacy around governance, architecture, people and program management, standards and interoperability (GAPS).

In 2022, with support from Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, GIZ, PATH, and other partners, AeHIN aims to strengthen the alignment of regional and national digital health initiatives along with the WHO Global Strategy for Digital Health. In line with this, we are seeking candidates for the position of executive director.

The Executive Director will report to the AeHIN Governing Committee (GC) and will actively consult with the AeHIN general membership and its special committees namely – the Working Council, the Regional Enterprise Architecture Council for Health (REACH), the Community of Interoperability Labs (COIL), the Research Special Working Group, and the OpenIMIS Community of Practice in Asia.

The Executive Director will supervise and manage the AeHIN secretariat in Manila, Bangkok, and its future locations.

Deliverables:

  • Support GC with scanning of external and internal environment towards strategy
  • Establish linkages with relevant partners
  • Supervise secretariat
  • Maintain communications with funders and partners towards successful project implementation

Eligibility:

  • Resident national of any AeHIN country
  • At least 10 years experience with eHealth/digital health
  • At least 5 years membership in AeHIN
  • At least 5 years membership with AeHIN Working Council
