Taipei, Taiwan – Dr. Boonchai Kijsanayotin, Chair of the Asia eHealth Information Network (AeHIN), together with AeHIN governing committee members Dr. Alvin Marcelo and Mr. Anis Fuad, participated as panelists at the Global Conference on Digital Health Policy, held at the National Taiwan University Hospital on November 28-29, 2023. The event was hosted by the Taiwan Association for Medical Informatics (TAMI), Taiwan Electronic Health Association (TEHA), Foundation of Medical Professionals Alliance in Taiwan, and Asia-Pacific Association for Medical Informatics (APAMI). AeHIN Working Council members from Taiwan, Prof. Dr. Chien-Yeh Hsu, Chair of APAMI, and Dr. Hsiu An Lee, Secretary General of APAMI and TAMI, hosted the conference.
Dr. Kijsanayotin presented the WHO Digital Health Strategy in the session, ‘Constructing the Digital Healthcare Industry Chain: From Policy to Practice.’ Meanwhile, Dr. Alvin Marcelo presented ‘Building Regional Alliances for Health Equity,’ in which he introduced AeHIN as the platform for regional alliances in health informatics to improve health outcomes and AeHIN’s Community of Interoperability Labs (COIL) as the group of health IT professionals in Asian countries that advocates the promotion of standards and interoperability within the country and at the regional level.
Mr. Fuad presented ‘Empowering Health Sector in Post-Pandemic Era: The Role of Digital Transformation Office (DTO) at the Indonesian Ministry of Health,’ in which he shared the story behind the establishment of the DTO and how it can accelerate the progress of digital transformation in the health sector in Indonesia.
