Makati, Philippines–The University of the Philippines Manila Standards and Interoperability Lab (UPM SILab), a member of the Asia eHealth Information Network (AeHIN) Community of Interoperability Labs (COIL), conducted a three-day boot camp on digital health interoperability at Ascott Makati from February 4 to 6, 2025.

On the third day of the boot camp, AeHIN Director Dr. Alvin Marcelo, together with Kate Ebrill and Umer Nisar from the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), met with COIL members to discuss what makes an interoperability lab, establish the COIL charter, and explore collaboration opportunities, especially the use of the digital health sandbox, FHIRlab, to build capacity in the region, and the possibility of including a boot camp during the next AeHIN General Meeting. The AeHIN COIL is currently finalizing its charter.
