The Asia eHealth Information Network (AeHIN) joined the panel “Governing the Digital Transformation in Health Systems” held during the Global Health Security Conference on June 10, 2026, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. The event was part of the 20th anniversary celebrations of the United Nations University International Institute for Global Health (UNU-IGH).

AeHIN Executive Director Jai Ganesh Udaysankaran participated in a panel discussing governance challenges and opportunities related to the increasing use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in healthcare. In response to the moderator’s question, he shared insights into regional collaboration and the value of the convergence approach, drawn from AeHIN’s engagements and support for the capacity-building and technical assistance needs from the national digital health programs of countries in the region.

The conversation highlighted the importance of putting people at the center of care. This key message resonates with the discussions and country experiences shared at the AeHIN General Meeting themed “Investing in Digital Public Infrastructure and Responsible AI for People-centered Health”, held on May 11-13, 2026, in Jakarta, Indonesia.
