Fred Hersch MBBS, MPH

Dr Fred Hersch is a Program Manager with Google Health working on Healthcare AI in Asia Pacific. A medical doctor with a background in information technology, Fred has long been passionate about the role of design-led technology in transforming access to healthcare, especially in resource poor settings.

Fred was an early pioneer in the tele-medicine space. In 2002 he co-founded MedTech Outreach Australia, developing and implementing one of the first web based telemedicine platforms globally.

Prior to Google, Fred was a co-founder of Telenor Health in Bangladesh. As Chief Medical and Product Officer he was responsible for ensuring the highest quality of clinical services and establishing a data driven platform for delivering virtual patient centered care. He was a James Martin Fellow in Healthcare Innovation at Oxford University and practiced medicine in Australia.

Fred has a BSc from UNSW, an MBBS (Hons) and MPH from Sydney University.
