“I remember my decision to become a respiratory therapist well. I showed up to job shadow an RT and she walked me directly into a cardiac surgical intensive care unit. Just then a post-op patient rolled through the double doors and the RT jumped into action helping to stabilize this particular patient. After witnessing the teamwork, the critical nature of the job and the use of medical technology I was 100% sold. Now, 23 years later of this career, I still love my job and feel lucky to have found my niche. I truly learn something new every day and get to help others while that happens.”
